Position Summary:

The Driver Trainer role is responsible to provide instructional training related to material handling equipment and safety to a wide customer base. Training instruction includes theory, practical lessons, evaluations, and granting a certificate to individuals who pass the courses. Training takes place in a classroom setting, customer sites or at a designated venue

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote and deliver operator training and other safety training related programs in person or virtually
  • Meet minimum performance standards and sales/training objectives
  • Present safety training and other related programs according to the guidelines established in the trainer’s manual, CSA standards and Ministry guidelines
  • Provide hands on instruction on the recommended method for operating material handling equipment
  • Assist in developing new training programs
  • Provide training as required to meet the needs of customers and to schedule training hours around the needs of our clients (Note: travel and weekend and/or evening hours are a requirement of this position)
  • Submit paperwork i.e. attendance and scorecards, at the completion of each session as required.

 

Additional Qualifications

Education

  • At least 1 year of Community College Certificate/Diploma
  • Adult Instructor or Trainer - Health and Safety, Power Equipment - Theory and Practical
  • Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Education - General
