Position Summary:

Are you good with your hands, have a knack for all things technical? Join Johnston Equipment as a Battery Service Technician.

As the Battery Service Technician, you will be diagnosing and repairing batteries and charges. You will also be performing scheduled maintenance pm batteries ad charges at customer sites.


How You’ll Make an Impact

You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of truck batteries and chargers with the following responsibilities:

  • Educating customer’s employees on charger operations and proper procedures
  • Repair batteries at customer’s sites
  • Make appropriate adjustments to batteries and charger settings to prolong working life
  • Maintain accurate records for each battery and provide ongoing assessments
  • Educate customers on how to keep batteries and/or chargers in good condition
  • Work with battery suppliers on warranty

 

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/or minimum of 3 years technical of experience with industrial batteries and chargers or Electrical trades certificate.
  • Changing battery cells/ Diagnostic abilities/ Able to perform all battery related repairs
  • Proper factory training and extensive experience repairing chargers
  • Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs working with industrial batteries (6000 lbs) knowledge of lifting devices
  • Forklift certificate training provided, previous certification preferred
  • Able to work independently
  • Good command of English (verbal and written) Ability to effectively interact and communicate with customers and other technicians
  • Experience working with technology ( i-pad and other mobile devices)
  • Clean Driver’s abstract
