Position Summary:

The Corporate Master Data Steward – Governance & Enablement role serves as the central driver of the organization’s data governance function, collaborating across teams to establish and implement standards that position our data as a strategic asset. In addition to guiding governance, this role defines and leads solutions to complex data challenges—leveraging reporting, automation, and analytics to enable data-informed decision making, drive efficiency, and unlock strategic opportunities. Through ongoing improvement and innovation, the role ensures the organization realizes the full value of its data assets.

 

Responsibilities extend beyond defined master data domains to include shared corporate data elements that require consistent governance, integration, and quality oversight across systems and departments, including:

 

  • Guiding the classification of Master Data and other shared enterprise data
  • Working with business and technical teams to develop and implement Data Governance practices across the organization (policies, procedures, standards, and training)
  • Conducting data quality audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of master data
  • Recommending and implementing process and procedure changes to improve or maintain data standards
  • Guiding and managing data projects, including the development of reporting and analytical solutions
  • Supporting troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes of data issues (process, integration, or system design) and collaborate with business and technical teams to resolve them.
  • Champion the use of common data terminology and promote a shared understanding of data’s value and role in decision-making.
  • PODAR (performs other duties as required)

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and stewardship practices, including data classification, standards, policies, and shared enterprise data management.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting data quality assessments and addressing root causes of data issues across processes, integrations, and systems.
  • Working knowledge of relational data concepts to support data integrations.
  • Experience guiding data initiatives and promoting common terminology and understanding.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft 365, supporting data governance, reporting, analytics, automation, and workflow optimization are considered an asset.
  • Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled analytics, automation, or data management capabilities, including their implications for data governance, quality, and responsible use, is considered an asset.
  • Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement is considered an asset.
