Description:
- As the Dock Door Technician, you will be conducting maintenance checks and diagnosing repairs for dock products to replace worn or defective parts at customer sites. You have an eye for troubleshooting operational malfunctions on equipment then communicating and executing repair solutions. You’ll be one of the front line contacts between GNJ and the customer. Johnston Equipment provides technical tools to its technicians to support them in their positions including the latest technologies (iPad, iPhone, and work standards, GPS) in order to efficiently process work orders and maintain parts inventories.

The ideal candidate is proficient in the mechanical and electrical areas of expertise. As well, they have strong verbal and written communication, are customer service-oriented, results-oriented, and have attention to detail. Their problem-solving abilities will help them in their diagnostics and they should be able to work independently to service at customer sites on their own.
Goals:

- Fulfill service duties at customer sites on docks and overhead doors
- Meet SLA Agreement standards of service
- Successfully service equipment and encourage repeat business through exceptional customer service
Key Work Activities:

- Receive service call requests from the national call centre department
- Explain problems, solutions consequences, conditions, and cost of repairs to customers
- Repair dock products at customer’s facility including: doors, seals, bumpers, restraints
- Test specific areas, parts, and components to ensure safety and optimal operation of equipment
- Fill out work orders outlining issue, summary of work performed, and actions required
