Position Summary:
Are you good with your hands, have a knack for all things technical? Join Johnston Equipment as a Welder.
 

As the Welder, you will be conducting welding repairs on lift trucks and performing general fabrication work for internal shop needs and repair other pieces of equipment within a shop setting.
 

How You’ll Make an Impact
 

You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of trucks with the following responsibilities:

  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Complete welding repairs, repair cracks tec to various models of forklift equipment
  • Make non-structural modifications as required.
  • Modify new equipment to add sensor brackets and mast stops.
  • Complete repair to door hinges and undercarriage.
  • Design/fabricate or modify various equipment and tools for shop technicians.
  • Complete all required paperwork and account for time and bill time to WO’s for repairs completed.
  • Complete all monthly H&S training online.
  • Participate in other duties as required to support the business operations.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Table:​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/pr minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Welder or equivalent related experience.
  • CWB certified an asset
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and welding devices.
  • Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining the body of industrial equipment.
  • Able to interpret and implement technical procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
