Position Summary:

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Johnston Equipment, you'll play a crucial role in expanding our customer base and ensuring market growth for our line of material handling equipment and services. Your mission? To identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance their operations and drive success.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Forge Connections: Reach out to potential customers through various channels including cold calling, emails, customer visits, and networking events.
  • Build Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with new customers, fostering a continuous flow of opportunities.
  • Solution-Oriented Approach: Recognize customer needs and tailor solutions using our comprehensive range of products and services.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay informed about our product offerings and industry standards to effectively communicate value to customers.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with our sales team to align efforts and meet organizational objectives.
  • Educate: Present product information, highlighting features, benefits, and new offerings to prospective customers.

 

Market Penetration:

  • Targeted Approach: Identify and target competitive users and non-users in your territory.
  • Action Plans: Develop strategies to convert competitive users and non-users into loyal Johnston customers.
  • Networking: Utilize networking opportunities to promote our business and expand our reach.

 

Preparation of Proposals and Orders:

  • Research: Conduct thorough research on customer applications and prepare pricing based on specifications.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to address customer needs effectively.
  • Documentation: Prepare formal quotations and necessary paperwork for orders.

 

Networking:

  • Promotion: Actively network to promote Johnston Equipment and our product line.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Attend meetings and collaborate with other departments as required.

 

Forecasting/Reporting Plans:

  • Strategic Planning: Prepare forecasts, customer profiles, and annual business plans to identify target accounts and market opportunities.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Sales Experience: Minimum of 5 years of B2B sales experience.
  • Mindset: Growth-oriented mindset with a focus on providing solutions.
  • Integrity: High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Sales Skills: Demonstrated ability to convert prospects, close deals, and meet sales quotas.
  • Communication: Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Drive: Self-motivated with a "Go-Getter" attitude and a valid driver’s license.

Education

  • Certificates & Designations High School Post secondary education Community College, Marketing/Sales is required is required
