Class III Business Development Representative (BDR) - VANCOUVER
Position Summary
The Class III Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for developing new business opportunities and acquiring new customers within an assigned territory or market segment.
This role focuses on prospecting, customer outreach, relationship building, and growing awareness of Johnston Equipment’s products and services with small to medium-sized businesses. The BDR plays an important role in identifying opportunities, generating leads, and supporting long-term customer growth.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Identify and pursue prospective customers including competitive users, dormant accounts, and new business opportunities
- Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, email outreach, virtual communication, and customer visits
- Build relationships with prospective customers and uncover business needs through effective discovery conversations
- Generate and qualify sales opportunities within an assigned territory or account base
- Present and promote assigned products and services to prospective customers
- Maintain consistent pipeline activity and manage follow-ups throughout the sales cycle
- Collaborate with internal teams to support solution development and customer proposals
- Refer opportunities outside of the assigned product category to the appropriate sales teams
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information within CRM and company systems
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, and industry developments
- Support additional sales initiatives and projects as required
Performance Measures
- Achievement of assigned sales and activity targets
- New customer acquisition and pipeline growth
- Consistent prospecting and customer engagement activity
- CRM accuracy and sales reporting completion
- Completion of required training and development programs
- Ongoing adherence to Company policies and procedures
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales, outbound sales, business development, or customer-facing sales roles
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable prospecting and developing new business opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
- Ability to learn technical products and communicate customer value effectively
- Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate customer information
- College diploma or university degree considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license required
