Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our company as Project Manager, Automated Systems able to manage projects both on-site and remote. This role works primarily outside of the office and communicates daily through virtual meetings.
As a Project Manager, Automated Systems, you will coordinate the successful delivery and deployment of Material Handling Systems and Automation projects sold to customers.
As part of our PMO team, you will define your project goals, establish completion dates, assign team members and sub-trades, organize your project schedule, and communicate it with all parties. Oversee production/delivery schedules to ensure timelines are followed, and present regular progress updates to internal and external stakeholders. You will monitor all sub-trades to make sure they have the resources and information they need to deliver a safe and successful project to meet our client’s expectations. The role might require extensive travel within Canada on a required basis.
In addition, manage customer orientation and support programs to ensure customers utilize automated systems effectively on an ongoing basis. Interface with GNJ Service department, sales staff, and customer departments (operations/IT/Health & Safety) to ensure successful deployments. Manage relationship(s) with vendor(s). Track project costs to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on time.
The PM success will depend increasingly on his or her leadership, communications ability and performance, and ability to manage the details of multiple projects.
Previous experience with project support in Material Handling Solutions and Manufacturing along with working knowledge of Radio shuttle and Applications, Vertical Lift Modules, AGV/VGV/guided vehicles, mobile robots, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), goods-to-person technology, sortation, and conveyor will be preferred.

- Ensure satisfactory operation of hardware/software system to customers.
- Communicate with internal and external customers and vendors
- Manage sub-contractors as part of the project, including health and safety, insurance, budget, billing and invoicing, and project completion
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Post- secondary college diploma, engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering.
- Completion of or in the process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
- Must have experience managing automation projects with multiple disciplinary teams.
- Must have a proven track record of coordination to a multi-disciplined project design and construction team.
- Must have acted in a project management role with a minimum of five years’ experience in a variety of projects/markets on a multidisciplinary team.
- A practical working knowledge of Radio shuttle and Applications, Vertical Lift Modules, AGV guided vehicles, mobile robotics, sortation, and conveyor will be preferred
- An ability to work effectively with customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential
- The ideal candidate must be able to travel as needed within Canada (50%)
